THE $20-TRILLION TUNNEL THAT COULD LINK NEW
YORK AND LONDON (2 MINUTE READ) [7] A transatlantic tunnel connecting the UK to the US may be possible, but it would be extremely expensive, with estimates of almost $20 trillion for the project. It would take many years for the 3,000-mile tunnel to be completed - it took six years to build the 23.5-mile Channel Tunnel linking England and France. Developments in vacuum tube technology have made the concept more viable. A vehicle traveling in a hyperloop system could theoretically reach speeds of more than 3,000 mph, making the journey between London and New York barely an hour long. Wait a minute, can cars withstand 3,000 mph speeds ?

I'm scared when I'm in one at 100+ LOL

...Not one hundred percent efficient, of course.but nothing ever is.

I am guessing that they are talking about some form of mass transit
vehicle. That said, it still sounds like science fiction to me. ;)

I didn't think of Mass transit vehichle. I've not followed the hyperloop stuff. I agree it sounds like science fiction. Will be awesome if it works safely,
and can provide fast transit. Look at the high speed rail trains. They are pretty amazing.

That's like what... 5 Mach speed? We'd all need Top Gun training just on the ground... or under... and under deep water pressure.

I haven't clicked the link yet... but all that is just absurd :)

Hmm, 3,000mph - what would that do to the human body kinetically? I reckon it would literally turn all molecules into liquid lol, thanks to gravity and inertia.

I might have to pass on that, at least until they can make it safe lol.
