• SysOp Page Tone

From Vela025@vela025@BEEBS2.remove-lwv-this to All on Sat Nov 23 16:25:10 2024
    Hey All,
Thanks for your help in getting Synchronet to function in a way that works wellfor different terminal types. I'm now using an Amstrad NC100 logged in to the
sysop account to monitor for pages, new message etc. I'm probably being stupid but should there be a beep when the sysop recieves a page? I get the message about tone generation but then nothing happens...I assume as there is no sound output attached to the rpi. Is there a setting to send ASCII 7 to a client connected using the sysop account when the sysop is paged?

I have sysop set as available and in config have set the page to Short sysop page. The pi that runs synchronet is also my teletext transmitter so is using the SDTV out via the composite which may mean any beeps it should get will be sent to the tuned in TVs rather than the audio out jack...so ideally a beep through a connected client is a setting I'm hoping to find.

    Cheers,
    Ed

No, but I created a feature request on your behalf: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues/827
